Bill Dalton

Bill Dalton brings over five decades of experience in the insurance industry to his role as Mississippi Regional Director for Sunstar Insurance Services. He began his career as an underwriter with USF&G Insurance Company in 1971 and became an independent insurance agent in 1976. Over the years, he has held leadership positions, including President of Southern Insurance of Corinth and President of his own agency, Bill Dalton Insurance. Since 2002, he has served as President of Renasant Insurance, which became Sunstar Insurance Services following its acquisition by Sunstar Insurance Group in July 2024.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University and has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. His expertise includes personal and commercial property and casualty coverage, as well as life, health, and ancillary insurance products.

A respected leader in both professional and civic circles, Bill has served on the boards of the Independent Insurance Agents of Mississippi, AmFed Insurance Company, and St. Paul/USF&G. His community involvement includes leadership roles with the United Way, the Corinth Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Yellow Creek State Inland Port Authority. He is also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army National Guard veteran.

Known for his commitment to clients and community, Bill has built a team with strong employee and customer retention, with many staff members having more than 10 years of service. As Sunstar’s first regional director in Mississippi, he continues to lead with integrity, dedication, and a deep understanding of the industry.
